Climate change is one of the most pressing challenges of our time, and its effects are being felt globally, including right here in our community. In this portfolio, I will share insights into the impacts of climate change locally, how we are adapting, and the efforts we are making to mitigate its effects. Additionally, I will highlight my personal contributions to combat climate change and the actions being taken by community leaders.

limate change is already affecting various aspects of life in our community. From more frequent and intense storms to rising temperatures and changing weather patterns, the impacts are becoming increasingly visible.

Extreme Weather: In recent years, our area has experienced a noticeable increase in extreme weather events. We’ve had:

  • Flooding: Seasonal rains have intensified, leading to frequent floods that disrupt local agriculture and damage homes.
  • Drought: Conversely, periods of drought have affected water supplies, leading to crop failure in some rural areas.

Loss of Biodiversity: As temperatures rise, many species in our area are at risk. Local flora and fauna, which depend on specific environmental conditions, are increasingly stressed, leading to disruptions in the local ecosystem.

Rising Temperatures: Average summer temperatures have risen by 3°C over the past decade, impacting agriculture, causing discomfort for residents, and increasing energy consumption.
